Invitation to see the stars together between pilgrimages and labyrinths with sacred music in memory of Massimo Tedeschi, father and president (2001-2024) of the Via Francigena!

To share the memory of Massimo Tedeschi, historical president of the Via Francigena (2001-2024) and of the religious heritage, the Carmelite Fathers and Fiorella Dallari, president of the Scientific Committee of the Via Francigena, of the Via Romea Germanica, member of the Network of Italian UNESCO Chairs and of the Arsarmonica Association, linked to the Cammini di San Martino of the Council of Europe.
At the Cipri organ, a UNESCO heritage site since 2006 as part of the Bologna Creative City of Music, at 5.30 pm Istvan Batori, organ master of the Church of the Holy Trinity, will perform an organ prayer, inspired by pilgrimages and the labyrinth, starting from the Via Francigena. This will be followed at 6.30pm by the Holy Mass in memory of Massimo Tedeschi, the historic President who led it from 2001 until his death in June 2024.
The organ prayer is made up of pieces inspired by the theme of pilgrimage and the labyrinth, symbols and metaphors of the journey of life, starting from the places of the Via Francigena, a Roman pilgrimage born at the end of the third century towards the city of San Pietro and rediscovered at the end of the second millennium in the footsteps of Sigeric, bishop of Canterbury. The link between music and pilgrimage is built by the link between places and composers of sacred music, in relation to their activity and their geographical origin. The authors of the pieces presented lived between 1500 and 1700 and worked in the churches of Canterbury, Reims and Lucca, which have always been fundamental stops for all the Romei of the Vie Francigene who went and go to Rome.
