The Pieve di Santa Reparata is located halfway between Castrocaro and Terra del Sole in an area of abundant archaeological finds from the Roman era, leading to the supposition that a 'Roman vicus' stood here, from which Castrocaro later originated.

It represents the oldest place of worship in the Acquacheta valley, the matrix of all the churches that arose thereafter. Its origins can be traced back to the 6th century, but studies have shown that it underwent significant development in Romanesque architectural forms in the following centuries; it was then, unfortunately, largely demolished and passed into use as a civil residence.
Reconsecrated and reopened for worship not many years ago, it is once again a meeting place for the Christian community of Terra del Sole, but also a centre of great historical and artistic interest.
